Artist’s words
This work is part of an ongoing body of videos and images, where I stage interactions between my body and the natural world. I am interested in how a feminist presence in the landscape could undermine heroic narratives, drawing upon absurdist humour and emphasising a sense of the ridiculous.
I want to suggest a body that is porous to its surroundings, in a reciprocal exchange with the natural world.
Artist’s bio
Rebecca Moss was nominated by Rosalind Wilson.
Rebecca Moss (b.1991, Essex, UK) is an artist whose work critically examines heroic narratives through absurdist gestures which can take a wide variety of forms across performance, video and sculpture. She is particularly interested in how interventions and gestures informed by slapstick comedy can speak to power through humour, and are intensified by a feminist perspective.
Rebecca Moss nominated Milo Creese to respond to her work.
