Artist’s words
These works I make using a scanner, laying the objects on the glass and leaving the lid open.
Depending on the time of day and strength of sunlight the colour of the background changes, from bleached white, pinks and lilacs to grey tones. These works preserve and archive a moment of the objects lives and capture the moment they were assembled in this particular order before being scattered about the world again, perhaps never to meet and converse again. I will always eventually return pebbles and shells to the beach and organic ephemera to the garden and manmade items return back into my studio amidst organised chaos waiting to becoming part of an artwork again.

Artist’s bio
May Hands is the first participant in A Cosmos of Correspondences.
May Hands holds an MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London and was awarded a BA in Painting from Camberwell College of Art in 2013. Hands works with the detritus of everyday urban life, appropriating urban leftovers to reflect on her surrounding environment. Natural and man-made objects are brought together into assemblages and installations that play on the characteristics and cultural associations of her discoveries.

Print details
Each print is the highest quality professional quality C-type print made using the very best high definition equipment and finest materials, all overseen by master printers. The prints will be delivered flat and unframed and can be framed in a standard readymade A4 size frame. We have production in the UK & Germany. This means print orders being shipped to customers in the UK or EU will not face additional import charges. Prints are sent by Royal Mail tracked delivery. Prints are created on demand to reduce waste and printing and delivery is fully carbon neutral as all carbon emissions are fully offset. Prints will be accompanied by a digital certificate of authenticity delivered separately by email.
